Inspiring Creative Minds
The
Dubai International Advertising Festival is a meeting place for the Middle East
and North Africa region (MENA) advertising and communications industry, where
they can learn, be inspired, network and celebrate.
The Festival, now in its fifth year, took place from 4 to 6 March 2012. The Dubai Lynx Awards, to honour
the region’s best work in advertising, was held on 7 March 2012.
The
Dubai Lynx Festival and Awards are part of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity stable. They are produced in partnership with
Motivate Publishing, with the support of Dubai Media City (DMC) and in
association with the UAE Chapter of the International Advertising Association
(IAA).
The two-and-a-half day Festival Programme of seminars and
workshops are presented by a high calibre of speakers who discuss the issues and
challenges facing the creative industry. The 2012 esteemed line-up of speakers included Jean-Marie Dru Chairman at TBWA\Worldwide, Sajan Raj Kurup,
Founder, Creative Chairman at Creativeland Asia, Michael
Wall,
CEO at Lowe + Partners and Kamal
Dimachkie,
Executive Regional Managing Director at Leo Burnett.
Exhibitions and screenings of the shortlisted Dubai
Lynx entries provided creative inspiration and a snapshot of the best
advertising in the region. A showcase of winning work from around the world displayed creative entries that were awarded trophies at Cannes Lions, Eurobest or Spikes Asia Festivals.
Also at the Festival were select exhibitors that offered a gateway to the latest
technologies and services.

The exciting Dubai Lynx Awards honour and celebrate MENA’s best work in creative
advertising. After careful deliberation from the juries the winners were
announced at the Awards ceremony. The Awards were held at the Madinat
Arena, Madinat
Jumeirah on 7 March 2012.
