Biography

With over 15 years in the regional music and entertainment industry, Moroccan born Karima Damir is driven by a passion for the advancement of all forms of contemporary entertainment across the region. Karima has played key roles at a multitude of regional and international organisations including MTV MENA, Platinum Records, MBC, Rotana, Sony Music and is now driving forward A&R at Warner Music. In 2021, Karima became the Director for Artists and Repertoire - part of a leadership team responsible for signing A-list artists and partners, successfully signing Egyptian superstar Hamaki and production power house Craft Media, whilst developing exciting new talents including Barry and BAWS. In October 2021, Karima played a key role in producing, delivering and launching the first ever Global Arabic performance in Fortnite, as Hamaki broke records with his 48 hour concert. Karima has vast experience in talent development, music production, marketing, licensing and artist management, and regularly speaks on these topics at industry events and conferences. When not working – which is rare – Karima can be found mostly thinking about music, culture and everything in between!
