Inspiring Creativity: Recap of the Dubai Lynx Creative Student Hackathon 2024

Dubai Lynx, in collaboration with key educational and industry partners including Dubai Media City, Dubai International Academic City, and Dubai Knowledge Park, recently concluded its highly anticipated Creative Student Hackathon. This annual event brings together the brightest minds from universities across the region to showcase their innovative prowess in crafting 360-degree campaigns.

With 20 talented students vying for top honors, the competition was fierce, and the energy was palpable as participants prepared to present their campaigns to esteemed judges and industry leaders.

The judging panel comprised seasoned professionals from diverse backgrounds, each bringing their wealth of expertise to the table:

  1. Bruno Barbosa, Senior Creative Director at Saatchi & Saatchi
  2. Ahmed El-Gamal, Senior Director of Marketing at Jumeirah Group
  3. Mona Hassanie, Strategy Director at Wunderman Thompson
  4. Prerna Mehra, Creative Director and Head of Art & Design at MullenLowe MENA
  5. Georges Khouri, Marketing Director at TECOM Group Dubai

Nine universities enthusiastically participated in this year's hackathon, demonstrating the growing interest and commitment to nurturing creativity and innovation among students.

Among the highlights of the event were the insightful keynote address delivered by Neil Sheth, Founder of Writefully, setting the stage for the students to unleash their creativity.

After intense deliberation, Team Blue emerged victorious, capturing the hearts and minds of the judges with their exceptional campaign. Comprising students from Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Middlesex University, SAE Institute Dubai, and Amity University Dubai, Team Blue demonstrated exceptional teamwork, creativity, and strategic thinking in their campaign.
