Biography
An entrepreneur at heart, Jonty started his first ad agency while still studying at University, and spent more than 20 years expanding and exiting various businesses across advertising and media, before swapping his entrepreneurial roots for the multinational agency conglomerate Publicis. He spent 5 years managing all of the creative, digital, PR & influencer, and Commerce agencies on the continent as Senior Vice President of Communications at Publicis Groupe Africa. In late 2025, Jonty took on a new challenge, taking on the role of Chief Strategy & Integration Officer for the Groupe across Africa. In this role, he looks after corporate strategy for the Groupe, the strategic capability across functions, the integration of the Publicis offering under the Power of One, and the Growth function.
As a classically trained business marketing strategist, Jonty has led award-winning strategic thinking and guided executional work across brands such as HEINEKEN, Mondelēz, PepsiCo, Jack Daniel’s, adidas Originals, KIA Motors, Unilever and Sanlam. He is driven by a passion for human beings and all their gifts and quirks, and deep curiosity for taking lessons out of everything he does.
