Biography
Kelly Castilho is a filmmaker whose work moves fluidly across advertising, cinema, and television, a creator who has spent 30 years transforming human emotion into powerful visual storytelling. She began her career in 1995 at O2 Filmes, mastering the craft of image, rhythm, and narrative, and later expanded her vision through collaborations with major Brazilian production companies such as Conspiração Filmes and Zero Filmes.
In 2009, she founded Confeitaria Filmes, establishing a creative hub for bold and culturally resonant projects. In 2019, she launched the Africa Br Contemporary Institute, strengthening her commitment to artistic innovation, representation, and contemporary identity. Her path also includes executive leadership at Estúdios Globo, where she contributed to shaping large-scale audiovisual content for one of the world’s largest media groups.
Her body of work spans commercials, films, music videos, documentaries, and TV shows, consistently guided by a sensorial approach and a deep connection to cultural diversity and human experience. Her creative inspiration is fueled by nature, contemporary art, global cultures, her son’s curiosity, her mother’s resilience, and the ancestral narratives that ground her artistic vision.
Castilho has served as a juror at leading festivals, including the Cannes Lions Film Jury 2023, Young Lions, PPA – Prêmio Profissionais do Ano, the Gerety Awards, and the Ampro Globe Awards. As Vice President of +Mulheres Lideranças do Audiovisual Brasileiro, she champions equity, creative visibility, and emerging voices in the industry.
