After growing up backstage at Lincoln Center and in NYC's recording studios, Rani spent over two decades as Director of Music at BBDO NY, placing music in award-winning campaigns for brands like Pepsi, HBO, GE and Bacardi—but what she remembers most are the moments when music was the heart and soul of the campaign. Her pursuit of creative excellence has taken her from negotiating licensing deals for The Beatles and Beck, to working with legends like Aretha Franklin, Philip Glass, and Nas, to the stage as a Juilliard-trained violinist at Carnegie Hall. Rani brings the same discerning ear to placing new tracks that she does to a 60-piece orchestra session. She's earned Emmy Awards, Gold Lions, Clios and countless other accolades—but what really matters to her is work that honors creative vision, creators, teamwork and the transformative power of music.
