Biography

Richard McLeod is a global marketing leader with more than two decades of experience shaping culturally resonant brands across sport, outdoor, luxury apparel, and spirits. As Global Chief Marketing Officer of Merrell, he is driving a multi-year transformation to redefine modern outdoor culture—building platforms, partnerships, and experiences that inspire people to step outside in new and meaningful ways.

A champion of brand experience and activation, McLeod focuses on turning brand purpose into living, participatory moments. His work spans cultural partnerships, immersive storytelling ecosystems, and global product launches, always rooted in authenticity, creativity, and emotional connection.

Prior to Merrell, McLeod served as Global CMO of Champion, where he led global marketing strategy, breakthrough campaigns, and high-impact collaborations that expanded the brand’s worldwide relevance. He has also held senior leadership roles at Canada Goose and Foot Locker, and earlier in his career shaped transformational work for leading spirits brands including Grey Goose, Bombay Sapphire, and D’Ussé Cognac.
